Professional-grade optics
Medea’s optical engine architecture is nothing but world-class. It is built from custom designed aspherical glass elements and enhanced low dispersion glass lenses. The resulting image quality is simply outstanding.
State-of-the-art electronics
All new “Pulse” electronics are built on a superior FPGA platform featuring a dual core processor on the industry’s only 20nm SoChave, with 96 transceiver lanes delivering 3.3 Tbps of serial bandwidth. It has been designed to process 4K with HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 and HDR10 with extremely low latency, thanks to our
unique single step processing technology. Barco’s RealColor processing enables simple and accurate calibration to any desired white point or greyscale.
Award Winning DLP technology
Medea utilises the very latest 0.66-inch display. diagonal micro-mirror device from TI, it displays 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) 3840 × 2160 pixels on the screen, features a 5.4 micron micro-mirror pitch and a ±17° micro-mirror tilt (relative to flat surface).
Laser light source
Medea is packed with a brand new laser engine. Alongside significantly improved image uniformity, lasers last longer than traditional projector lamps, are not as fragile and offer near instant on/off.
Liquid cooling
Medea has departed from a pure fan based cooling system switching to a liquid cooling PID regulation system, allowing Medea to operate at any angle, increasing installation flexibility.
PULSE Software Features
- Warp to Center
- Barco Residential has a unique way to handle aspect ratio's within our 16:9 projectors. This feature is called warp to centre. The change between aspect are instant.
- Prospector
- Barco’s web interface: Prospector, provides quick and simple configuration and calibration of Pulse projectors, along with monitoring and diagnostic tools. Pulse prospector is available in all the Pulse based products.
- Illumination
- A unique blue laser phosphor light engine developed by Barco. Blue lasers are selected based on their high density and power efficiency.
- Warp & Blend
- Warping is the process of digitally manipulating an image to compensate for alignment distortions. Blending allows multiple projectors to be seamlessly combined to create unique digital canvas solutions.
- RealColor
- RealColor is Barco's proprietary color management system, enabling simple and accurate calibration to your desired colour gamut or white point.
- Latency
- Low latency is desirable to achieve that smoother gameplay and user experience we all want, without input lag. If latency is >30ms, your gaming experience will be compromised, Barco’s latency is <20ms (including all image processing).
