Single Step Processing SSP™
Pulse is a hardware and software based platform that simplifies the signal allowing it to transmit from source to screen much faster and more efficiently. We use an advanced image processing technique to display the image on the screen without any artefacts and with the lowest possible processing lag (<20ms with all image processing), this is made possible by our Single Step Processing (SSP™).
State of the art electronics
All new Pulse electronics have been designed to process 4K with HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 and the optical engine utilises the very latest 0.9" DMD DLP chipset, delivering 5,120 x 2,160 pixels to screen.
Njord CS also features HDR, motorised lenses and Barco’s unique RealColor processing, enables simple and accurate calibration to any desired colour standard or white point.
Building Blocks
Njord Cinemascope offers 5K UHD resolution (5,120 x 2,160) for superb image quality. Thanks to its modular design of only five building blocks, Njord CS is easy to service. Njord CS is the most compact and rugged cinemascope projector offering 9,000 lumens light output currently available.
Laser Light Source
Outstanding image quality also requires an exceptional light source which is why we designed Njord CS with a brand new laser engine, significantly improving image uniformity (95%) over its predecessor. Njord CS uses custom selected lasers to secure that we can deliver DCI/P3 colour gamut.
Lasers last longer than traditional projector lamps, are not as fragile and offer nearly instant on/off.
PULSE Software Features
- Cinemascope
- Barco Residential has a unique way to detect and manage aspect ratios within our cinemascope projectors called Cropping. Pairing with a supported control system, results in minimal user interaction when selecting aspect ratios for projector and screen.
- Prospector
- Barco’s web interface: Prospector, provides quick and simple configuration and calibration of Pulse projectors, along with monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Pulse prospector is available in all the Pulse based products.
- Illumination
- A unique blue laser phosphor light engine developed by Barco.
- Blue lasers are selected based on their high density and power efficiency.
- Warp & Blend
- Warping is the process of digitally manipulating an image to compensate for alignment distortions. Blending allows multiple projectors to be seamlessly combined to create unique digital canvas solutions.
- DynaBlack
- DynaBlack is Barco’s dynamic contrast enhancement feature, analysing each frame on the fly and adjusting contrast dynamically for dark and bright scenes accordingly.
- RealColor
- RealColor is Barco's proprietary colour management system, enabling simple and accurate calibration to your desired colour gamut or white point.
